Chuka University Security Department held its 5th Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast at Chuka University in Igambang’ombe Constituency, in a ceremony that also marked two and a half years since the department’s establishment under the leadership of Head of Security Mr. Ibrahim Mulinge.
The event brought together members of the department for prayer, reflection and fellowship, as the institution celebrated the department’s continued commitment to maintaining safety, order and professionalism within the university community.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Mulinge thanked the university management and expressed appreciation to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Mutembei for the support accorded to the department over the years. He also challenged security officers to remain disciplined, resilient and dedicated in the discharge of their duties.
The thanksgiving service featured spiritual encouragement from Pastor James Kinuthia of the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya, who urged members to serve wholeheartedly and uphold integrity, teamwork and gratitude in service.
The programme also included a financial literacy session conducted by representatives from Solutions Sacco, led by Regional Manager Madam Caroline and Chuka Branch Manager Mr. Koome. The officers were sensitised on personal financial management and encouraged to embrace a savings culture for financial stability.
Members were also updated on the department’s Emergency Fund Kit launched in January 2026 to support officers facing urgent financial challenges.
Blending prayer, praise and worship, speeches and fellowship, the event highlighted not only the department’s role in safeguarding the institution, but also its growing culture of unity, welfare and mutual support among members.
